![]() With each new era, new mineable resources will appear, so you can just build, you guessed it, more mines! If you need more workers kidnap them with the Pirate Bay. Now just build more mines, repeating the above process for maximizing profit. Research the "Employee of the month" edict and exact it. (also the workers will generally be well-off and can live in Apartments) If there are 4 or more mines in close proximity, go the extra mile and have a grocer and such too. Right next to each set of mines, build housing: like about 1 Bunkhouse per mine, and a tavern. Set the mine to "Profit Protocol" workmode and max budget. Prefer gold mines, but you can mine anything. ![]() On most mining patches you can fit 2 to 4 mines, try to cram as many mines as you can on the patch. If you just want shitloads of money with low effort, then do this: The last thing, stay as much as you like in the colonial era and enter WW with a lot of cash. I go one school and one college for WW and then two schools and one college for Cold war.Įven if I say you don't want to overextend, I still go after every resource I can find on my island and plant as many different crops as I can (at least two of each ideally three), I go with two different animals (four each). You need uneducated people for many jobs. A level four to clinics, hospitals, schools, banks colleges, etc.ĭon't build to many schools and colleges. ![]() I assign a level three budget to basic industry, mines and farms. I have found that you need a lot of them, but not high quality. Teamsters and construction workers I set them in two. Also build docks next to your new villages of cities which hold new industries.Īt the beginning, I never set the budget to max on a building except in my palace or a critical building until the modern era. Build docks that make the ships travel path shorter. The interests will bury you.īuild more than one dock, if you notice, the ships come from every part of the sea. Other tips: use embassies and ask for money. Politics will be a breeze after having enough suisse money to bribe the different factions everytime they ask for something, or the superpowers. I never spent a dime in military buildings after the colonial era and the absence of guerillas made everything more easy.Įdit: also, other thing I had been incorporating in my previous games but helps a ton too is to use the broker. I combined this with the Brandenburg wonder and only had two revolutions, both of which had less than three troops. Other thing I changed that was useful was to set the Constitution on pacifists mode instead of military. By the end of the cold war I already had $800,000 + and the modern era was basically a city builder for me :) it was the best thing ever because I got to build every building I ever wanted to. This way I was always assured that I was working on a positive balance and it gave me space to react if things went south. ![]() If I ever got under that amount I just stopped doing anything and let the economy to grow back up. This game I took it more slowly, focusing in never going under 15 k. All the other games I went in and just tried to go after every resource available as fast as I could and ended up broke. The most important aspect by far that I changed in my playthrough was to not overextend. All the other past games I had to quit due to being broke (up to 200 k in debt some times) but the last time I played I finished the game with $8.5 M and basically everything you could need. I have played about 8 games now and I finally made it all the way through the end and went into a negative balance like two times only.
